Board of Trustees (BOT)

As a non-profit organization, the Board of Trustees serves as ISP’s governing body that ensures the school fulfills its purpose of providing world-class, student-centered education.

The Board comprises nine members: five elected and four appointed. Each trustee serves a 3-year term. The BOT’s primary responsibility is to support the Head of School in maintaining ISP’s status as a top-tier institution in accordance with its strategic plan. All Board members are current ISP parents.

Key responsibilities of the BOT

Upholding the Mission, Vision, and Values

The Board ensures the alignment of all school policies and practices with its core principles, actively affirming and promoting the institution’s Mission, Vision, and Values to guide its progress.

Policy Oversight

The Board reviews, establishes, and monitors policies governing the school’s operations. While the Head of School handles policy execution, the Board ensures these align with strategic goals and bylaws.

Head of School Management

Responsible for overseeing the Head of School’s entire employment lifecycle, the Board manages recruitment, appointment, performance evaluation, and, when necessary, termination, ensuring leadership continuity.

Strategic Direction and Monitoring

In collaboration with the Head of School, the Board defines and monitors strategic priorities, approves the Strategic Plan, and adapts it as needed to support the school’s long-term vision.

Financial Stewardship

The Board ensures financial stability through oversight of assets, risk management, compliance, and crisis response. Duties include approving tuition, fees, financial statements, and preparing financial reports for the General Assembly, in line with the bylaws.

Effective Board Operations

The Board maintains its effectiveness by implementing policies for Trustee succession, meeting protocols, committee management, and professional development. Permanent committees, such as Finance, Audit, and Governance, ensure specialized oversight.

Ethical Conduct

Trustees uphold the highest ethical standards, managing conflicts of interest, ensuring confidentiality, and prioritizing the school’s interests above personal or external agendas.
